Great Content Needs Readers
You pour your heart and soul into your blog. You work hard to come up with new and creative ideas to write about and keep looking for your purple cow to make your blog stand out. Then you go and look at your statistics, and discover that no one is reading and appreciating your hard work. It happens to all bloggers at one time or another. It can be frustrating and might make you want to just throw in the towel on your blog.
If your blog has been feeling under appreciated lately then you might be interested in joining an idea to help under appreciated blogs become more appreciated. Chuck Westbrook has an idea that might help. The idea is simple in some ways join together and appreciate other blogs and your blog will be appreciated by others. This might be just the thing to give you some new blogs to read and gain some more appreciation for some new blogs as well.

Chuck Westbrook's idea is a novel one, and it sounds pretty good. So far, I have found that the best way to build a readership is to participate on other blogs regularly through comments and emails. I hear forums are a great place to find readers (and reading material) as well. But nothing beats finding a compelling voice and topic. That seems to draw the biggest crowds.

I agree with you Melissa taking part in other blogs and forums will help finding readers. This idea is really not much more than that, bloggers taking part in other blogs. There have been other ideas similar to this from others. Chris Garret had one not long ago that was similar.

I read this post kinda late. I went over to Chuck's blog and saw there 616 comments and 86 track backs. Am I suppose to read all of them, and have to choose 1 every 2 weeks as a recommended reading? Seems like a lot of work. Unless I miss something, the idea needs tweaking.
